We're making a Mutant Vehicle!

Word Play Cafe has for the past two years offered our word game project to participants in the form of a dome in the city filled with our custom Burning Man themed puzzles and other classic word games. As you know, Word Play Cafe is dedicated entirely to word games for people to gather, play and learn together.

Now we want to bring our word games to participants throughout the city and on the playa. We intend to drive our Mutant Vehicle around the city and playa and stop near groups of people where we’ll announce our offerings and have participants join us on the top platform for a ride and to play our games. We will have our custom Burning Man themed crossword puzzle and other custom word games, and our new offering which is our custom built Letter Cubes game made of large electronic “alphabet blocks”. This game will be played on the hood of the vehicle and scores will be shown on our LED sign.

The mutant vehicle will have seven 4 foot by 6 foot white panels around it with a crossword pattern. At night it will glow with a soft white light.

Base Vehicle

We’re starting with a friend’s old mutant vehicle and stripping off the old fur and adding our crossword panel mutations. They had some side cladding for Cargo Cult, but we are not using any of that. Here’s the base vehicle before we removed the old fur. And without the platform on top.
